THE MOST POWERFUL FILE SECURITY APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

ProCypher™ Encrypt 512 Application

It's as Easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Start the Application: Go to your Start Menu and click on ProCypher™ Encrypt 512 or find the Desktop Shortcut if you chose to add one when you installed the software and click on it.

2. File Menu: Will cause the Open File dialog window to be displayed. Choosing a file will automatically populate the Input File To Process and Output File Save As text boxes.

3. Encrypt Button: Starts the file encryption process. The Processing Report text box displays information about the file currently being processed.

That's it - you've just encrypted your first file!

Control Console

Encrypt Button: Starts the file encryption process after first checking that all other inputs are set correctly.

Decrypt Button: Starts the file decryption process after first checking that all other inputs are set correctly.

Reset Button: Resets the application to its original status.

Close Button: Exits the application.

Hide Code Key Check Box: Hides the code key that you enter - unchecking it will allow you to see the code key you enter.

System Information

Message Text Box: Displays information about what the application is currently doing.

Quick Start Help Menu Item: Will cause the quick start documentation to be displayed.

User Guide Help Menu Item: Will cause the user guide documentation to be displayed.

Code Key

Code Key Text Boxes: Enter your encryption/decryption code keys here - enter the same key once in each text box. Your code key must be at least 4 characters long, any keyboard characters are valid entries and it can be up to 128 characters long.

Encryption Strength

Message Text Box: Displays information about the code key you entered, how many keyboard characters it is and how many bits are being used for encryption/decryption.

Weak-Strong Percent Bar: Indicates relatively how strong the code key you entered is - the higher the number, the stronger the encryption.

Encryption Buffer Size Menu

Radio Buttons: This is where you set the buffer size for the encryption process. Older computers may require a smaller buffer, newer ones should use the larger settings. The larger the buffer, the faster your computer will encrypt and decrypt your file - this setting is required only during the encryption process, during decryption it will be automatically configured.

Post Processing File Action Menu

Radio Buttons: Choosing one of these radio buttons will cause the corresponding action to take place after the selected input file (File To Process - chosen using the Open File button) has been processed. The selected input file will be either an unecrypted original file ready to be encrypted or a previously encrypted file ready to be decrypted.

The Do not Delete or Erase File option will leave the file that is selected to be processed undeleted and unerased - essentially nothing happens to the file, it is left intact as it was before processing occurred - you end up with the original file and the resulting output file.

The Delete but do not Erase File option deletes the input file after it is processed leaving only the resulting output file that was created during the encryption or decryption process. The deleted input file is recoverable using special software.

Choosing the Delete and Erase File option will completely remove the processed input file from your system leaving no trace of the file or file name - the file is unrecoverable using any known means. This option exceeds the United States Department of Defense DOD 5220.22-M specifications for permanently removing electronic files from magnetic storage media.
